Tatsu

My piece for the Breath of Embers show at Gallery Nucleus. Obviously I went with a more eastern approach as I have always been fascinated with the look of a serpentine dragon.

acrylic on paper, 15.5 x 20 inches

EDIT!
The shots that Gallery Nucleus took of this piece are way better than the ones I took.

Sneak Peak

Here's a sneak peak at two of the paintings in their drawing stage for an upcoming show at Nucleus Gallery. These will be shown side by side as sort of a diptych. Human embodiments of Flora and Fauna.

Satyr

A bit of a companion piece to the Nike drawing a few posts back. This is my take on a satyr. I just LOVE ancient mythology.

JAWS Tattoo Design

Here's a tattoo design I did for a friend of mine, Peter Harp. He's a big fan of the film Jaws and wanted to pay tribute in the iconic compositional style of Drew Struzan's movie posters. Depicted are Chief Brody, Sam Quint, Matt Hooper, Ellen Brody, and Mayor Larry Vaughn. I will post the tattoo when it's done :)

Print Giveaway!

Hey all! I have been revamping my online store and getting it ready to go live. So to kick it off and to thank you all for your support, I am doing a print giveaway! I was inspired by my friends Kali Ciesemier and Sam Bosma who recently did giveaways of their own.

I will be giving away the four prints above. For size reference, the "Tribal Tech" print in the center is 13x19 inches. All you need to do is leave a comment on this post and you will be entered to win. You can also retweet my twitter announcement (@jeremyenecio) to enter. Doing both will double your chances! Also, make sure you follow me on both ;)

I will draw four names at random on Tuesday, March 29th, one week from today. Check back for the list of winners next week! Once the winners are picked, I will be opening the new online store on my site, so make sure you check that out as well!

Good luck!!

Terrestrial Disguise

I realized I haven't touched inks in quite a long while and I thought I'd give it a go today. The drawing was a quick sketch I started during a sketch night at Jared Fiorino's place.

Joanna Newsom

Played around some more with these textured brushes and decided to do a portrait of Joanna Newsom (I'm surprised it's taken me this long to actually do a portrait of her). For some reason, whenever I think of her, I see the colors pink and gray. Her music is much more colorful, yet the association is there in my brain whether it makes sense or not. Brownie points if you can name the constellation around her neck!

Doodling

Played around with some brush settings in Photoshop (not something I do often) and started having fun with the dual brush. Loving the subtle textures i'm getting out of each stroke.

Tribal Law 2

Hey guys. So this post is pretty late due to the fact that I decided to have an extended stay in Baltimore, spending time with my brother who was moving to the Philippines (he arrived safely there yesterday). Once I got back to New York, I jumped right into refurbishing this piece with fresh eyes.

I really did rush to get it onto the blog before leaving for Christmas. Definitely a lesson learned there, but I am very glad for all the feedback and critiques that lead me to this point. It's most definitely still open for criticism, so don't hold back. Hope you enjoy it.
